Welcome to 2017!
Christmas has come and gone for another year, I hope you had a good one. We had a busy family time, having all five of our grandchildren together for the first time. It was lovely to see them all interacting and getting to know each other. We had some special times and now have some special memories to keep.
The end of the Christmas season has been closely followed, as always, by the start of another year. 2017 holds the promise of a lot of new beginnings. I look forward to meeting new people and sharing ideas and experiences.
One thing I look forward to doing very soon is exploring a new website that has been recommended to me. I was visiting a family member yesterday and we were discussing knitting patterns for grandchildren. She told me about the “Ravelry” website and I have just signed up as a member.
“Ravelry” is an online community for knitters and crocheters. Amongst other things on the site is a huge range of patterns, a number of which are free. I have only had a quick look at it so far, but it seems to be a great resource site and well worth investigating. Why not check it out for yourself and let me know what you think of it?
I thought the beginning of a new year was worth creating a new design for. I have been busy with my PCStitch programme today and have now posted another cross stitch pattern. Please regard it as a basic framework that you can personalise with your own motifs.
I hope to have a few little motifs finished soon to post on my Downloads page so keep an eye out for those. They should also be joined by a few ideas for knitting and crochet.
Happy New Year everyone! Let’s make it a productive and successful handcraft year.
