The time seems to have flown by lately. I have completed one baby jumper in a lovely teal blue colour. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of it before I gave it away as I was running a bit short on time.
I currently have three knitting projects on the go. The pretty pink baby theme has been very hard to resist so I have a little double knit jacket almost finished, and a pink 3 ply cardigan under way. I will try to remember to take photos when they are finished.
This is actually in the reverse order to what they are needed. The baby is due in the second week of January, which is the middle of summer here, so the little pink cardigan will be a lot more appropriate to start off with. Fortunately it is a pattern I have done a number of times before and I know it will not take me long to finish.
I am putting a bit of pressure on myself though, as I have also started a second Mermaid’s Tail. We are into the second week of December now, so I am not sure if I will be able to get it finished in time for Christmas. I decided it was worth giving it a go though, so I will have to spend quite a bit of time knitting for a little while.
I recently received the December issue of the Stitchlinks newsletter in my email. It contains a link to an article in US News &World Report entitled “7 Health Reasons to Take Up Knitting”, which is based on an interview with Betsan Corkhill. I have included the link here in case you want to check it out. You may remember my previous post, “Knitting For Your Health”, which mentions the therapeutic knitting work that Betsan is involved with in the UK.
