Christmas Bell

Christmas BellThe end of the year is approaching fast, and with it comes Christmas and all the celebrations that go with it. I have attended several end of year functions in the last few weeks, as I am sure you will have too. I am looking forward to a Christmas craft afternoon being held at our church this Saturday. It promises to be an enjoyable couple of hours making Christmas crafts, getting new ideas, and sharing a home baked afternoon tea.

I have been rather busy with knitting lately so have not managed to make a proper start on my Lace Sampler yet. However, I have managed to make a little Christmas Bell cross stitch pattern. I have just made it available on my Downloads page and it may provide you with a little extra addition to a card, gift tag, or some similar Christmas project.

One of the things which has finished for the year for me is my Crochet Classes. I have had a lot of fun doing these, and am so proud of the ladies who have attended. They have been so enthusiastic and have put in so much work.

Several of them have produced quite a number of square motifs which I have suggested they join together to make small blankets or rugs. They have also made a few bigger squares, and have started onto some circular work.

It has been very inspiring for me to watch their progress, and to see the variety of work they have come up with using basic stitches and different colours and weights of yarns. I have encouraged them to go at their own pace, and to choose their own projects.

The recent earthquakes which affected Wellington, the area where we live, were followed a few days later by heavy rain and flooding. A number of my ladies still made it to the group that week though. What commitment!
