Oh My Goodness! Holiday Ornaments Galore by Ursula Michael is absolutely gorgeous! I could quite happily sit down and stitch almost every single pattern right now.
Holiday Ornaments Galore starts off with a brief introduction of the author, Ursula Michael. This is followed by a couple of pages of General Instructions and Technique Tips. These are both clear and helpful.
What follows next is a feast of cute and versatile Christmas cross stitch patterns. I just love the slightly whimsical smiles on faces which include a wide range of Santas, snowmen, reindeer, angels and gingerbread people. There are stockings, hats, trees and wreaths, along with some cats and dogs and even some penguins and polar bears.
The little Nativity scene people have those same delightful smiles, and I can’t wait to start stitching them. I think the carol singers and the little angels will also be popular for Christmas cards. A slightly bigger design which really appeals to me is a blue themed one which says “Snowflakes are angel kisses”.
I really liked the set of Christmas themed numerals which is included in this book. It is accompanied by a basic upper case backstitch alphabet and two sets of backstitch numerals. Please follow this link to the Leisure Arts website to enjoy more photos from this book.
I thoroughly recommend Holiday Ornaments Galore to anyone who is interested in cross stitching some Christmas projects. There are so many lovely designs of varying sizes which could be used singly or in combination to create a wide variety of items. I am certainly planning to start making use of some of them as soon as I can.
