The Last Pair

The Last PairThe last pair of fingerless mitts is finished. Actually, I finished sewing them up on Tuesday night and now it is Saturday afternoon! Time is just flying by at the moment. The colour is a bit washed out in this photo. They are quite a bright blue with a fleck in them.

I had a busy day on Wednesday. It started with the moderation meeting for two of my students’ work. I’m happy to report that their work was accepted, so it’s good to have that finished with. In the evening we had our church forum meeting. These are held three times each year, and it was my first one after being elected to the Deacons Board. That went well too, but I was very tired when I got home.

The next thing I have to do is deliver my Night Shelter knitting to one of the drop off points. It is the first time I have done this so I will have to work out where I need to go. I am looking forward to getting it done so that I can concentrate on other projects.

One project I must finish off is the Octopal that just needs to be stuffed and have its “bottom” sewn on. It will be good to get that out of the way so I might try to get it done before the end of the weekend.

I have also made a small start on some Christmas gifts – a bit late, I know. Spotlight had a VIP members only night on Thursday which I went along to with a friend. I picked up some cotton yarn to make dishcloths / washcloths with. They should be easy to post and I have been looking forward to trying them out for some time now.

All this means that the wool I have set aside to make my first pair of “Hermione’s Everyday Socks” will have to wait for a bit. Hopefully the wait won’t be too long.
