Cross Stitch, Karen's Korner

Back On Deck

Back On DeckSo it’s taken a while but I finally feel like I’m back on deck. A lot of February went past without me really noticing. It definitely went by without me getting much crafting done.

This week I have started getting back into a few things. It has been really good to have a bit more energy again. I don’t remember being hit so hard by a cold before and it has been very frustrating.

One of the things which gave me a bit of a kick start is the little cross stitch project which the photos are of. There is a lovely couple in our church home group who have recently given us some very generous and significant help. I was trying to think of an appropriate thank you gift and suddenly thought of doing a little cross stitch picture.

Back On DeckThey both love tulips so I thought I’d have a look for a tulip picture. After searching through a number of books on my shelf, I came up with a couple of possible ideas. I thought I should have a quick look online too and came across this free pattern. It was a bit of a mission to sort out the colours, but I finally managed to put these ones together from my supplies. It didn’t take too long to stitch, and I was really happy with the frame I found for it.

Now that I am crafting again I have managed to get the second square of my Kanata Kerchief Tank Top finished. The third one will be started once I finish this post. I also need to look out a 4 ply baby pattern rather quickly. I want to make a little gift for my daughter’s friend who is due with her first baby in March.

It’s good to be back!
